Brad produces this album with a keen eye on
works by The Allman Brothers, The Band, Lyle
Lovett, CSNY and Little Feat. The result is a
timeless album that moves you from start to finish
with a fresh yet familiar sound. Swinging
arrangements turn up the heat on barnburners
such as “Waco” and “Headin’ South For The
Winter.” The songs “If Heartaches Were Like
Dollars (I’d Be a Millionaire)” and “Lend Me An
Ear Van Gogh” illustrate his clever writing style.
The sparse “Desert In Bloom,” the haunting ballad
“Slowly Away,” and the instant classic “This Old
Car” sound like vintage lullabies. Brad played
guitar, mandolin and banjo. He’s joined by John
Lambdin (The Ditty Bops) on fiddle and lap steel
guitar and Greg Leisz (k.d. lang, Robert Plant &
Alison Krauss) on dobro and pedal steel guitar.
Greg Rutledge (the Ditty Bops) added his piano,
keys and accordion while Arnold McCuller (Lyle
Lovett, James Taylor) sang most of the
background vocals. Austin Nicholsen snapped his
stand-up bass, Jack Willoughby pounded on his
drums and Tina Guo sweetly played her cello.
